The guide

Sponsored content policy

This page states what can be bought on this site, where it may appear, and how it is labelled, so that no reader ever has to guess.

The Nursery Ledger is funded by its readers’ trust and, where accepted, by clearly labelled sponsorship. This page states the terms, so that a reader knows which pages are editorial and an advertiser knows exactly what a placement here includes.

What a sponsored placement is

A sponsored page or placement is one whose existence a partner paid for. It carries the word sponsored at the top of the page in plain language, and its links carry the rel="sponsored" attribute so that search engines see the same label readers do. Sponsored pages are listed apart from the guides, they never enter the planting, shipping or guarantee advice, and they are written to the same factual standard as everything else: real trade terms, stated ranges, nothing invented.

What cannot be bought

No sponsorship enters the guides themselves. A nursery cannot buy its way into a review it has not earned, a recommendation inside a guide, or silence about the trade’s weak spots, from virus hygiene to guarantee exclusions. We do not publish advertorials disguised as reader questions, fake reviews or unlabelled affiliate content; links inside the guides exist because a page needs them, not because anyone paid.

Enquiries and standards

Partnership enquiries go through the address on the contact page, with a plain description of the proposed placement. The editorial policy governs how all pages, sponsored or not, are written and corrected, and the terms of use govern the reading of the site. A placement that cannot meet the labelling rules above is declined, whatever it pays.
